Case study: MathsCity.

Opened in 2021, MathsCity is the UK's inaugural mathematics discovery centre, situated within the Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre in West Yorkshire - a pioneering establishment.

This dynamic space is open to the general public and schools, providing an immersive, interactive experience that delves into the captivating world of mathematics.

At the helm of this groundbreaking venture, in collaboration with Fondant Marketing, I undertook a series of meticulously planned photographic sessions to create an extensive image library for their promotional material.

Our strategic approach encompassed multiple photography sessions designed to capture a diverse spectrum of individuals engaging with the exhibits. This comprehensive array of visuals formed the bedrock of their marketing materials.

Central to their marketing objectives was to heighten the visibility of MathsCity and present its attractions in a compelling light, thereby enticing prospective visitors to become paying customers.

As with all commercial photography shoots, learning and understanding the organisation, its values, and the intended target audience was paramount for producing results for the marketing visuals.

To facilitate a smooth workflow, especially while photographing members of the general public, I utilised a cutting-edge photo consent app, effortlessly generating detailed PDFs complete with signatures and embedded headshots. These resources are invaluable aids for future identification in the event of necessity.

Beyond the initial engagement, subsequent visits to MathsCity featured distinguished guests – three Members of Parliament – a testament to the centre's achievements. Swiftly following their departures, an array of captivating images was processed and promptly shared. This image bank was readily available for press releases and seamlessly integrated into their social media marketing initiatives.
